Waves at Crystal Cove

Chemers Gallery in Tustin, California is now representing my work and posted a lovely, enthusiastic blog about my art. Click on  the link below to read: http://chemersgallery.blogspot.com/2008/02/mary-aslin-in-classical-tradition.html. If you are in the area, stop by Chemers to see the work and enjoy their beautiful gallery. They are located off of the 55, at the 17th St. exit, in the Enderle Center in Tustin.

I'm thrilled to report that my oil paintings were juried into Art-A-Fair last Sunday. This coming July and August, here in Laguna Beach for the second summer, I'll be showing my oil paintings, in addition to my pastels at Art-A-Fair. I love the sculptural quality of pastels and the flourish of the brush with oils. Please visit my website to see some of this new work, as well as my new pastels: www.maryaslin.com

My adult students enjoyed a plein air class at Heisler Park in Laguna Beach last Monday. There was a slight breeze and beautiful sunny weather. Their paintings were fantastic. We only had one slight mishap with an easel that blew over. Ahh...such is the stuff of the plein air experience. If you are interested in classes or workshops, please let me know.

The Pastel Journal April 2008 issue featuring the results of the Pastel 100 competition will be out soon. I am truly thrilled and honored to be included as one of the award winners. A brief article accompanies an image of the winning piece. The original painting is being featured at Chemers Gallery.

Blessings and good wishes to you and please keep in touch.
