Thoughts to share, ideas to ponder

Morning on Main Street and El Camino Real, Old Town Tustin

This painting won 2nd place and $500 in the first annual Old Town Tustin Art Walk, sponsored by the City of Tustin's Parks and Recreation Department, the Tustin Area Council of Fine Arts, and the Tustin Preservation Conservancy.

I painted this scene on Friday, October 17, 2008 from 8:45 AM to 11:30 AM. I loved the sunlight branching across the street and sidewalk and the sunlit figures walking down El Camino Real. The clock face had a lovely antique glow. The planter contained many political signs and passersby jokingly "implored me" to put every one of them in. I agreed, of course, replacing all of the colorful signs with bright red and orange flowers, as I'm sure the quaint city of Tustin intended.
